Welcome to Lockton! For those who don't know you already, could you tell us a bit about your career to-date?

I initially got my foot in the door of the collector car world as a freelance automotive photographer specialising in my passion of classic cars soon after I become the photographer for Silverstone Auctions now Iconic Auctions in their first year of business. I rapidly went from photographer, to classic car specialist and then eventually head of valuations before joining Pendine Historic Cars in 2018. Specialising in the sale, acquisition and restoration management of pre & post war sports and racing cars my role was focused on the sales and management aspect of the business.

You spent a lot of time around classic cars when you were younger. How has that shaped your love of cars today?

Having grown up in and around classic cars, it was almost inevitable that they would become a passion. Experiencing the thrill, uniqueness and understanding their historical significance from an early age has kept my passion for cars alive throughout my life. The idea that no two cars are alike even of the same make and model is fascinating to me and being able to experience the raw and varied driving experiences of these cars never fails to excite me.

How will your background in sales and acquisitions serve you well in the insurance industry?

My knowledge and understanding of the cars as well as in depth knowledge of the market and individual values allows me to ensure that our clients' pride and joy can be properly covered against risk with a scheme that best suits their clients needs.

What attracted you to join Lockton's specialist car insurance team specifically?

I could see that the team at Lockton are driven and focused. I recognised a similar passion for both the cars and the people with a want to provide the best possible service for individuals to enjoy their assets.

I'm sure you're excited for the new role as a Producer! What are you looking forward to most?

I'm most looking forward to meeting old and new clients and fostering an environment where they can enjoy their prized possessions safe in the knowledge they are correctly protected.

And finally – what's your favourite car in your collection?

It's tough to choose between my 1965 Austin Healey Sprite Race car or my 1975 Alfa Romeo GT Junior. I think the Alfa just about wins out simply due to its versatility. It is equally at home popping to the shops, traveling on the continent or lapping around Silverstone Circuit all day.
