You've probably heard of Salon Privé even if you haven't visited before but what makes it so special and why have Lockton been a supporter for so many years and currently a Gold Sponsor?
The logical place to start is the cars. In its most basic form, Salon Privé is a car show – that is to say an event where the cars are the star attractions. However, it also sits proudly as a world-class Concours D 'Elegance next to events such as Pebble Beach and Villa D' Este, showcasing the best cars in the world.
Entrants range from the very earliest examples of the motor car, through to thoroughbred racers and poster cars from the eighties, with previous winners including models from Rolls-Royce to Ferrari and Maserati to Jaguar.
Lockton Performance has a natural synergy with the most special and expensive cars in the world. We understand the cars and we also understand their owners and what drives them to collect these vehicles. This enables us to deliver truly world-class insurance solutions.
Salon Privé is far more than just a show for expensive vehicles. It showcases luxury brands and goods from fine wine to handbags and helicopters and private jets to jewellery and watches, exhibitors offer visitors the chance to experience the glittering and the glamorous.
Lockton has a similar focus on luxury assets and valuable homes and their contents. Our Private Client division specialises in providing advice and guidance on how best to protect these items and our team will be on hand throughout the event.
From Wednesday to Friday we entertain almost 150 people, both at our Drivers' Lounge and one of the fine dining venues on site. Ice cold champagne and excellent food come as standard. We can't guarantee the weather, although we've been blessed for the last few years with (almost) dry and sunny conditions throughout.
Saturday sees hundreds, possibly thousands, of cars and their owners travel to Blenheim Palace for the Lockton Club Trophy day. This is where the best cars from the car clubs will be judged, with the overall winner receiving the Lockton Club trophy.
Car clubs are at the heart of what Lockton Performance does. We act for nine clubs currently and all but one on an exclusive partnership basis. Judging their cars is a highlight for our team!
Aside from this, there are the hats, the fashions, new car launches, a tour of the Oxfordshire countryside, an evening parade through Woodstock and not to mention that the entire event is held in the grounds of the magnificent Blenheim Palace! You'll find the Lockton Driver's Lounge immediately adjacent to the main stage, with our terrace giving you the perfect spot to enjoy the day's activities.
