Lockton is once again proudly sponsoring the Club Trophy at this year's Salon Privé.
As the insurance broker of choice to many prestigious car clubs (now nine, with more on the horizon), the trophy holds a special place for us. Our club partnerships and their members make up a significant proportion of our business – we've spent many years getting to know how clubs work and what they and their members want and expect from their insurance.
This has led to the creation of cover which is exclusive to Lockton and acknowledged to be market leading, with benefits that include cover to drive other cars comprehensively, allowing anyone over 35 to drive your car, enhanced agreed value and automatic cover for club organised trackdays.
It is therefore a natural fit for us to sponsor a coming together of so many clubs in one place and to celebrate what we all love about these amazing cars.
The event is being taken increasingly seriously by members, their clubs and the manufacturers with preparation and presentation reaching new heights and judging is always a difficult, if very enjoyable task.
One of the many highlights for our team is the variety of cars being entered and it isn't uncommon to see vintage cars rubbing shoulders with the latest super and hyper cars, with their owners all sharing the same passion for their vehicles.
Meeting the people who own the cars is as entertaining as judging their pride and joy. Everyone will have a different story as to how they bought their particular car and what makes it special to them – a rich and very varied picture but again one of the many fun parts of what we do.
Previous winners have included a stunning Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, a spectacular McLaren Senna and 2022's winning Ferrari 308 GTS, a truly eclectic trio that perhaps sum up the variety of cars entered by their clubs.
Club Trophy Day for 2023 will also be the final day of Salon Privé, as Blenheim welcomes the multi marque and lifestyle club to join single marque clubs – it will surely be a jaw-dropping display of almost every type of car, promising style, colour and of course some fantastic noise!
